Asbestos Mesothelioma
The most common reason for mesthelioma is Asbestos. Generally ninety percent of cases of mesthelioma are caused by exposure to asbestos. Asbestos is found naturally from rocks in many countries. It has properties like steel but can be woven like cotton and have very high resistance to heat and chemicals.
The people most likely to have been exposed to asbestos include:
- Workers
- Plumbers
- Electricians
- Makers of Boilers
- Builders of ship
- Engaged in demolition
- Worker those who worked in other places where asbestos are present.
- People who lived near to asbestos factories.
Workers those who working in asbestos factories, can bring dust home with their cloths and can develops mesothelioma.
There are three categories of asbestos namely Blue, White and Brown. And blue and brown are the ones which are commonly linked with mesothelioma. While white is not considered to be dangerous but recent studies shows that it is also dangerous for human beings.
In 180 imports of blue and brown asbestos in UK was totally stopped. And further in 1990 UK stopped all imports of asbestos. As development of mesothelioma is very slow, it is estimated that by 2015, every year 3000 cases will be registered every year.
Mesothelioma takes long time to develop, if exposed to asbestos. Time range could be 30-400 years to develop mesothelioma.Generally mesothelioma develop s in those people who never been expose to asbestos. But in some cases it is linked with radiations also. Many researches also proved that smoking does not increase the risk of mesothelioma.
